Since year 1990 Panama has had a stock exchange. Mainly banks and other strong companies are currently listed. It holds around 100 companies. It got electronised in year 2003 but can still do manual open outcry trading on its floor should any technical problem arise. The Panama Stock Exchange is called “Bolsa de Valores de Panamá S.A”.
